Accidents can happen. Even if you don’t knock over a glass of water, stains can occur on your wooden table. If you don’t use a coaster, water can run down the side of a glass. This water collects at the bottom of the glass, causing a water ring. Rings are of course not nice. So here are some tips to remove them.

Wipe up quickly
If you remove the glass and see a moisture ring, it is important to wipe it up as soon as possible. If it dries, it can turn into a white ring that is difficult to remove from a piece of furniture.

Iron
A fresh water stain can be removed by going over the stain with a warm iron. First place a kitchen towel over the wood before you start ironing and set the iron to medium heat. Do NOT use the steam function.
Did you not notice the stains before or did you buy a piece of furniture with old stains on it? Then try these home remedies

Natural cork
Rub a natural cork, the old-fashioned cork that used to be on all wine bottles, quickly back and forth over the damp spot. Sometimes you can still evaporate the moisture by means of the friction heat. This method from grandmother’s bag of tricks often gives reasonable to good results, but will not work on very old stains.

Toothpaste
Choose a plain, white toothpaste without gel or whitening ingredients. Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the circle and gently rub it in with an old toothbrush. The toothpaste is slightly abrasive and will remove the dirt. Wipe away any excess toothpaste thoroughly.
Afterwards, treat the surface with furniture polish..
