Traditioneel crafts meets high tech meet user needs
A great collaboration with former Philips colleagues Frank van der Borg and Stephan Willaert: Aladdin en de Wonderlamp. Designed and engineered from the need for a mobile home version of the Tovertafel (an interactive game system used by institutions for the care of the disabled)
Frank developed the Wonderlamp electronics and software based on a Raspberry Pie, a tablet PC and a low-cost projector. Stephan is the customer for the system.
Stephan and Frank approached me to make a mobile stand to hold the Wonderlamp, and a removable desktop for the wheelchair on which the interactive computergames are projected. The tripod is made of solid ash wood, has three legs with lockable wheels and the wiring of the electronics is concealed in the wood. The desktop is made of birch plywood. The height of the tripod is constructed for razor-sharp projection of interactive games on the desktop.
