Restoring an antique chair

This chair was made at the beginning of the previous century by a craftsman. Over the years it has been used intensively and has become very wobbly. During a previous renovation, the seat and finish were tackled, but the construction was only temporarily patched up with bison putty and something that looks like chewing gum. Time for a thorough reconstruction.

After disassembly, the paint layer was removed and I made all the mortise and tenon joints fit again. The seat was freshly upholstered by Stoffeerderij Passepartout and instead of using paint, I waxed the woodwork. This chair can withstand another century.
