Mariëlle’s Meubelmakerij designs and makes unique furniture and wooden items for your home or your business. From trays to desks; I combine multiple types of solid wood into a design that suits you perfectly. Sleekly designed and always with a twist.
Handcrafted
I mainly use machining for pre-processing, to bring the shell parts of wood to the right thickness and width. For further processing I use hand tools. This makes each workpiece unique
Natural finish
For my objects I prefer to choose European hardwood. Oak, ash, maple, hornbeam or elm – each with their characteristic colours, patterns and characteristics. For finishing, I prefer to use furniture oil or furniture wax; it preserves the pattern and structure of the wood best. Moisture and scratch resistance are comparable to lacquer.
A personal journey towards a unique piece of furniture
After an exploratory telephone conversation, we will make an appointment at your home, so that I can get a good idea of where the furniture should be placed. I will take some photos, take measurements and we will discuss your wishes. I will then make some draft designs and sometimes a rough prototype. Depending on the complexity of your requiremetns this step will be crosscharged. –
After we come to a final design choice, I will make a quote and cost estimate for the realization. At your approval, you will receive an initial invoice for the material costs. I will then start working on the detailed design and procurement of the materials, and the realization can start.
I will keep you informed of the progress via e-mail or WhatsApp with photos of the most important steps. Upon delivery, we will check together whether all agreed requirements have been met. If everything is to your liking, I will send the final invoice and a request to complete a customer rating
